Brisbane is the third most populous city in Australia, just behind Sydney and Melbourne. Located on the east side of the country, Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland state.

Brisbane is famous for its sunny days. The city is centered along the Brisbane River and has the third largest port in Australia based on value of goods. Its architecture is different from other cities in Australia due to the mixture of sophisticated skyscrapers and majestic historical buildings.

Brisbane has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and dry, moderately warm winters. As the weather is usually sunny and pleasant throughout most of the year, it encourages the residents to go out and spend time in coffee shops and restaurants known as “al fresco” where people are able to enjoy the fresh air.

The population can rely on an efficient and organized public transport system that offers ferries linking the north and south shore of the city. Buses and trains connect downtown Brisbane to its suburbs. Brisbane also has a large number of bicycle paths and pedestrians facilities to help commuters travel to work efficiently. The safety of the city is one of the features that justify the quality of life Brisbane offers to its population.

As with every other big metropolis, at night the city has a large range of restaurants and cuisines that suits all tastes, styles and preferences. There are also many clubs and pubs, as well as a casino, concerts and theater. Despite the fact that Brisbane has no natural beach, it is worthwhile to visit the artificial beach located in Southbank. It is the perfect place for picnics and also to minimize the heat during hot summer days.

Southbank offers to its visitors a large variety of restaurants, parks, museums, galleries, and shops. There is also the giant Brisbane Wheel, with its height of 60 meters providing unique and incredible views of the river and the city. When the subject arrives at shopping, the places to be are Queens Mall Street and Fortitude Valley.

For those whom enjoy the native animals of Australia, a great option is the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Those whom love a bit adrenaline, the option would be the rocky walls at Kangaroo Point Cliffs.

Surrounding Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast are the most popular destinations for those who are very keen to have some time off from the big city, especially for surfing lovers. Either destination is only an hour drive away from Brisbane.

Brisbane, despite being a well-developed commercial and industrial business center, maintains the characteristics of a quiet and peaceful city that offers an excellent lifestyle.
